Tweety's sisters Amay and April Heart greet me in the morning. It was quite the party last night. The whole village came over to meet me. We all gathered in the room through the doorway in candlelight and told stories. Tweety, Ernesto her father, Amay and April Heart her sisters, Cheraldine and her father George the coconut pilot, and Charito who spoke good English and loved to talk. Others too but I can't remember all the names.
These are poor people but happy people that live off the land. They eat corn, coconuts, bananas, rice, fish, and chickens. They plow fields using water buffalo and plant everything by hand. Everyone seemed so happy, generous, and healthy. No electricity, no refrigerators, no televisions, no microwaves, or stoves. They cook on wood fires. They tell stories to each other and sing for entertainment. We miss so much of these pleasures in the modern world.
