The Todai-ji at Nara must be the biggest Buddha in the world. It is 16 meters (50 feet) high and is made from 437 metric tons of bronze and 130 kg of gold. One certainly absorbs a feeling of awe and inspiration looking at this big boy. The Buddha at Nara is housed in the biggest wooden structure in the world. The statue was constructed in 736A.D. making it almost 1300 years old.
